Senior Quality Life Camp, 3 day 2 nights at Wellness We Care Center, Muak Lek, Saraburi, focuses on helping the elderly and those of pre-retirement age to join together and participate in various activities for fun and relaxation but hidden with learning. It helps practice creativity, logical thinking, and memory training and reduces loneliness and depression to be livelier. These activities cover knowledge and skills that can be applied daily to prepare for healthy aging with good quality of life (active aging).
Camp life is a life-changing experiment, both food, and activity. Aiming to change the lives of the elderly in these areas as follows:
Change your personality and body posture to be upright. Change movement to be active. Change the way of life from sitting still to moving and being active all day. Change your attitude toward life from aimless to a goal-oriented attitude. Change from tensed to relaxed, smiling, laughing, and daring to try self-challenging activities.
8 research issues used in the camp to train skills for the elderly are:
Strength training exercises reduce the risk of dementia. Balance exercises reduce slips, falls, and fractures. Exercises to test brain intelligence (Japanese Game) help improve the memory of the elderly. Low-fat plant-based diets cure chronic non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and reduce the chance of cancer. Going to the kitchen to cook for yourself makes it better to prevent and solve your chronic diseases. Mindfulness activities, such as yoga, can help reduce stress, heal illnesses, and improve quality of life. Employed elderly have a better quality of life and are healthier than the elderly who are unemployed. Communication technology and social media improve the quality of life of the elderly.
Instructors from various professional fields include physicians, behavior change psychologists, Thai traditional medicine, nutritionists, nurses, yoga instructors, art teachers, and music teachers.
