From May 6–8, 2025, the Association of Parents of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities of Thailand organized the second installment of its flagship program, “Pathway to Health and Business Opportunities through Healthy Food,” at the Wellness We Care Center in Muak Lek, Saraburi. The program aims to promote holistic well-being while equipping members nationwide with skills to pursue sustainable income-generating opportunities.

Mr. Suchart Owattawannakul, President of the Association, presided over the opening ceremony. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of integrating personal health care with vocational development to empower persons with intellectual disabilities to lead independent and sustainable lives.

Throughout the program, participants gained practical nutrition and holistic health knowledge from the Wellness We Care expert team, led by Ms. Boontarik Krupimai, a Nutritionist. A hands-on cooking workshop titled “Healthy Cooking for Income Generation” allowed participants to learn by doing, preparing popular Thai dishes such as Nam Prik Ong, Clear Soup Noodles, Kaeng Liang, and the ever-favorite Green Curry. The training included guidance on selecting safe ingredients and maintaining proper hygiene in food preparation.

The event also featured inspiring guest speakers. Mr. Suwatchai Champamoon, a practitioner of New Theory Agriculture, shared sustainable farming wisdom passed down from national agricultural expert Mr. Jantee Pratumpa. Another highlight was Ms. Piromon Chupraphawan, Managing Director of Forcare Co., Ltd., a Thai health food company that has grown over the past 20 years through scientific expertise, food technology, and a strong commitment to research and innovation. She shared her insights and success strategies for building a health-conscious food brand that delivers both nutritional value and great taste—meeting the needs of today’s wellness-focused consumers.  The atmosphere was filled with warmth and inspiration. Participants walked away with practical health and cooking skills and a renewed vision for using this knowledge to create livelihoods. The program aligns with the Association’s mission to promote self-reliance and sustainable quality of life for persons with intellectual disabilities nationwide.
