From June 13 – 15 , 2025, the Association of Parents of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities of Thailand organized the third round of the hands-on training program titled “Pathway to Health and Wellness: Unlocking Opportunities in Healthy Food Business” at Wellness We care Center, Muak Lek District, Saraburi. The objective was to enhance the physical and mental wellbeing of network members and equip them with practical skills to pursue stable and meaningful careers.
Mr. Suchart Owattawannakul, President of the Association, presided over the opening ceremony and emphasized the importance of promoting both health and employment opportunities, enabling people with intellectual disabilities to become self-reliant and actively contribute to society with dignity.
This initiative was held in collaboration with Wellness We care Center, a Social Enterprise under Mega We care, which serves as a national Experience Center for Lifestyle Modification. The Center operates on the principles of Lifestyle Medicine, which promotes long-term health transformation through whole-food nutrition, regular physical activity, effective stress management, quality sleep, positive social connection, and avoidance of risky behaviors and toxins.
Participants received knowledge and inspiration from the Wellness We Care team, led by Ms. Boontarik Krupimai (Baitoey), a nutritionist at Wellness We care Center. She conducted the “Healthy Cooking for Income” workshop, where participants practiced making popular plant-based dishes, such as Northern Thai chili dip (Nam Prik Ong), clear soup noodles, spicy herbal soup (Kaeng Liang), and green curry, while learning how to select clean ingredients and cook with proper hygiene.
The program also welcomed distinguished guest speakers:
- Mr. Suwatchai Champamoon, an expert in sustainable agriculture, shared practical applications of sufficiency economy principles in food production.
- Ms. Bhiramon Chuprapawan, Managing Director of For Care Co., Ltd., shared her real-world journey in building a science-based, health-focused brand that has stood the test of time for over 20 years.
The atmosphere was filled with positivity, inspiration, and actionable knowledge. Participants walked away with practical skills for career development and a deeper understanding of how to care for their health sustainably — fully aligned with the missions of the Association and Wellness We Care, which aim to create inclusive opportunities for personal and societal wellbeing.
